What you bring

We are looking for a Senior Backend Software Engineer to join our team on a full-time basis in San Francisco, CA. You will play a critical role in our engineering department by focusing on our foundational accounting platform and expanding our product capabilities within the fintech space. Your daily impact will center on these core responsibilities:

• Taking ownership of our core accounting and automation systems while integrating with key partners like Stripe, Plaid, and Modern Treasury.
• Building and maintaining the foundational services, internal and external APIs, and platform components that support both our customers and our internal engineering team.
• Leading integration efforts to onboard new partners and developing revenue-driving features like automated bookkeeping services.

Requirements

The ideal candidate is a highly skilled engineer with at least five years of experience building reliable, web-scale products. You should possess a strong grasp of distributed systems, including microservices, message queues, and caching strategies. Proficiency with PostgreSQL is essential, as is a solid foundation in object-oriented design and data structures. We value candidates who are quick to learn new technologies, especially when navigating older accounting systems or ERPs. You must be comfortable working in a collaborative environment, possess excellent English communication skills, and have a disciplined approach to unit and integration testing. A background in cloud infrastructure, DevOps practices, and performance monitoring will help you thrive in this role.
