Backend Software Engineer - Logistics at Cabify

The role

We are seeking a Senior Backend Software Engineer to join our team on a full-time basis. This is a hybrid role that offers the flexibility to work from anywhere. While our primary focus is on backend development, we value engineers who are adaptable and eager to learn. You will work extensively with Go and Elixir, though we welcome applicants with backgrounds in other languages like Java who are ready to pivot. If you have experience with frontend technologies, specifically LiveView, you will find plenty of opportunities to contribute across our entire stack.

Core responsibilities

• Collaborate with our team to design system architecture and plan new developments.
• Build and maintain clean, testable, and distributed applications while taking full ownership of your code from development through to production.
• Improve the reliability, performance, and scalability of our services while mentoring junior developers and fostering a culture of high-quality peer reviews.

Skills and experience

To be successful in this role, you should possess a strong foundation in computer science and a passion for building robust systems. We are looking for candidates who demonstrate the following:

• Proficiency in common data structures and algorithms.
• Proven experience developing large-scale distributed systems and web applications in a production environment.
• A solid understanding of architectural design patterns and the ability to make sound product and business decisions.
• The ability to thrive in a fast-paced, evolving environment while balancing independent work with strong team collaboration.
• While not required, any prior knowledge of the logistics sector will be considered a valuable asset.
