Backend Software Developer at Property Finder

Property Finder is a leading proptech powerhouse in the MENA region, helping millions of users find their ideal homes through our advanced technology platform. Since our start in 2005, we have grown into a regional unicorn with a presence in six countries, and we are now looking for a Senior Backend Developer to join our team in the United Arab Emirates on a full-time, on-site basis.

Responsibilities

• Develop innovative new features and refactor existing projects within our large, cross-functional engineering department.
• Write clean, scalable, and high-performance code that meets our rigorous quality standards.
• Participate actively in team brainstorming sessions, contributing your technical expertise to shape our product roadmap.
• Collaborate within small, agile teams to take ideas from initial concept through to fully tested production deployment.
• Stay current with emerging cloud-native technologies and propose creative solutions to enhance our business objectives.

Must-haves

• Strong proficiency in Object Oriented Programming and design patterns.
• Professional experience with backend languages such as Java, Python, or Golang.
• Solid analytical and problem-solving abilities.
• Experience working with MySQL and database performance tuning.
• Practical knowledge of REST web services and version control using Git or GitHub.
• Fluency in English.

Nice-to-haves

• A degree in Computer Science or a related technical field.
• Experience with Golang and ElasticSearch.
• Familiarity with cloud-native tools like AWS Lambda, AWS Step Functions, AWS SQS/SNS, and the Serverless Framework.
• Knowledge of DynamoDB, RabbitMQ, Redis, or Memcached.
• Experience working with automated testing frameworks.
