We are a remote-first organization with a global team of over 500 employees, and we are looking for a dedicated Backend Software Developer II to join our Networking and Data team. This is a unique opportunity to work on high-throughput systems that serve as the backbone of our product, helping us innovate for families everywhere.
What you'll be doing
- You will design and build the next generation of our high-frequency sensor data ingestion pipelines using Java and Kafka.
- You will enhance and maintain our core authentication and authorization systems, ensuring secure access through JWT implementation.
- You will take ownership of your services by managing their deployment, monitoring their performance, and driving technical improvements.
What you'll bring
To be successful in this role, you should have a strong background in software engineering and a passion for building scalable infrastructure. We are looking for the following qualifications:
- Proven experience working with Java and Spring Boot.
- Solid understanding of database management using MySQL or Postgres.
- Practical experience with containerization and orchestration tools like Docker and Kubernetes.
- Familiarity with PHP and messaging systems like Kafka.
- Excellent communication skills in English and the ability to thrive in a remote work environment.
