Role at a glance
We are seeking a Backend Lead to join our team on a full-time basis. This is a lead-level position based in Egypt, and you will work in a hybrid environment.
Your impact
- Lead and mentor a team of backend engineers to cultivate a high-performance, collaborative culture while maintaining excellent code quality through regular reviews.
- Architect and build scalable, secure backend services using Node.js, ensuring our systems can handle high traffic volumes while maintaining data integrity.
- Manage project timelines and priorities, working closely with product managers and front-end teams to deliver high-quality features on schedule.
What you'll need
You should be an experienced engineer who thrives in fast-paced environments. We are looking for the following qualifications:
- 5 to 8 years of experience in backend software engineering.
- Strong proficiency in JavaScript, Node.js, and the Express framework.
- Hands-on experience with NoSQL databases and search engines like MongoDB, Redis, or Elasticsearch.
- Proven ability to manage complex systems with multiple integrated components.
- A bachelor’s degree in computer science or a related field is preferred.
- Excellent communication, leadership, and critical problem-solving skills.
- The ability to quickly understand and work with legacy codebases.
- Fluency in English.
