What is this role?

We are looking for a Mid-Level Backend Java AWS Developer to join our Digital Meter Processing team on a full-time basis. This is a hybrid position based in India. In this role, you will help us process data from over a quarter of a million mobile and computer devices worldwide, ensuring our systems remain scalable, secure, and efficient as they handle massive daily data volumes across three different AWS regions.

What will you do?

• Develop and deploy new features within our existing backend processing pipelines to ensure seamless data handling.
• Manage automated build, test, and deployment processes by leveraging CI/CD pipelines to maintain a consistent delivery flow.
• Maintain high system standards by participating in code reviews, optimizing performance bottlenecks, and implementing security best practices across all tiers of our AWS infrastructure.

• A Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field.
• At least 2 years of professional experience in Java development and scripting with Python within an AWS cloud environment.
• Solid experience working with SQL and database systems like Postgres.
• A strong understanding of CI/CD principles, with familiarity in GitLab being a significant plus.
• Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to communicate complex technical concepts clearly to cross-functional teams.
• Bonus points for knowledge of networking principles, security best practices, or experience with tools like RedShift, Airflow, Lambda, Prometheus, and Grafana.
