What is this role?
We are looking for a Mid-Level Backend Java AWS Developer to join our Digital Meter Processing team on a full-time basis. This is a hybrid position based in India. In this role, you will help us process data from over a quarter of a million mobile and computer devices worldwide, ensuring our systems remain scalable, secure, and efficient as they handle massive daily data volumes across three different AWS regions.
What will you do?
- Develop and deploy new features within our existing backend processing pipelines to ensure seamless data handling.
- Manage automated build, test, and deployment processes by leveraging CI/CD pipelines to maintain a consistent delivery flow.
- Maintain high system standards by participating in code reviews, optimizing performance bottlenecks, and implementing security best practices across all tiers of our AWS infrastructure.

To succeed in this role, you should have a strong technical foundation and a collaborative mindset. We are looking for the following qualifications:
- A Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field.
- At least 2 years of professional experience in Java development and scripting with Python within an AWS cloud environment.
- Solid experience working with SQL and database systems like Postgres.
- A strong understanding of CI/CD principles, with familiarity in GitLab being a significant plus.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to communicate complex technical concepts clearly to cross-functional teams.
- Bonus points for knowledge of networking principles, security best practices, or experience with tools like RedShift, Airflow, Lambda, Prometheus, and Grafana.
