The opportunity

We are looking for a Senior Backend Engineer to join our team in the United Kingdom on a full-time, on-site basis. Your mission is to help us build secure, scalable, and enterprise-ready software that meets the highest industry standards. You will collaborate closely with our product team to deliver significant value to our customers, all while ensuring the long-term stability and quality of our existing platform. This role is perfect for someone who wants to take ownership of complex systems and drive strategic technical initiatives.

A day in the life

• You will design and implement complex, high-performance systems that scale effectively to meet growing business demands.
• You will work primarily with the Scala language, utilizing the Typelevel and Akka/Play framework stacks, while managing infrastructure on AWS via Terraform, Kubernetes, and CI/CD pipelines.
• You will champion our event-driven architecture by integrating Kafka throughout the platform and implementing robust monitoring solutions to resolve performance bottlenecks.

Who you are

We are searching for a seasoned engineer who is comfortable leading technical discussions and making decisions that ensure our long-term success. You should possess the following background:

• Proven experience working with Scala and cloud platforms such as AWS, Google Cloud, or Azure.
• A strong track record of designing and maintaining reliable, scalable, and secure systems.
• Proficiency with CI/CD workflows and a collaborative mindset that embraces learning in a fast-paced environment.
• Fluency in English to facilitate clear communication within our diverse team.
