Role at a glance

We are looking for a mid-level Backend Engineer to join our Maritime Applications team on a full-time basis. This is a hybrid role based in France, where you will help scale the MarineTraffic platform, our core system for tracking real-time and historical global ship movements.

Your impact

Collaborate within project teams to build new product features and expand our existing offerings.
Provide technical insights to help us re-architect our systems for better scalability and extensibility.
Ensure high code quality by implementing robust unit testing and maintaining monitoring mechanisms to meet our service level objectives.

What you'll need

We are looking for someone who is passionate about clean code and software design patterns. To be successful in this role, you should have:

A Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or a related field.
At least 3 years of professional experience working with Python, Java, Node.js, Go, or PHP.
Strong proficiency in building and consuming RESTful APIs.
Solid experience with relational databases like MSSQL or PostgreSQL.
Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines, Git, and Docker.
An excellent command of the English language.
