The opportunity

We are seeking a Senior Backend Engineer to join our team on a full-time basis in the United Kingdom. In this role, you will be at the heart of our platform, responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining the applications that power our portal. You will work within a cross-functional team to solve complex, open-ended problems, ensuring our technology remains as robust and efficient as the services we provide to our clients. This is a hands-on position where your contributions will directly impact our ability to deliver value to our users.

A day in the life

• You will write high-quality code primarily in Kotlin, utilizing Spring Boot to build scalable server-side solutions.
• You will manage data and messaging through PostgreSQL and Kafka, ensuring reliable performance across our platform.
• You will collaborate with your team to deploy applications to Kubernetes on AWS, using GitHub and ArgoCD to maintain a seamless CI/CD pipeline.

Who you are

You are a seasoned developer with a strong background in building server-side applications using Java or Kotlin. You have practical experience with cloud-native environments and a solid understanding of Spring frameworks. You thrive in collaborative settings and have a genuine interest in working within a Kanban-based workflow that emphasizes shared accountability and continuous improvement. While this is a backend-focused role, we value a full-stack mindset and are eager to support you if you are interested in expanding your skills into our frontend technologies like TypeScript and React. Proficiency in English is essential for our cross-functional communication.
