Backend Engineer at Ridecell

Our technology powers major industry players like Gig Car Share from AAA, Arval, and KINTO Share by Toyota Sweden. With a global presence spanning San Francisco, Madrid, Paris, Berlin, and our office in Pune, India, we are looking for a Senior Backend Engineer to join our team on a full-time, on-site basis.

Key outcomes

• Design and implement robust network APIs, specifically utilizing REST standards.
• Apply your expertise in Python to build and maintain scalable backend systems.
• Execute complex code refactoring to improve system performance and maintainability.
• Develop and maintain comprehensive automated testing suites to ensure high code quality.
• Perform deep-dive debugging and analytical troubleshooting to resolve technical challenges.
• Collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams using clear written and verbal communication.

Requirements

• Three to five years of professional experience working with Python.
• Proven background in designing and managing network APIs.
• Demonstrated ability to refactor existing codebases for improved efficiency.
• Hands-on experience with automated testing frameworks.
• Strong analytical mindset with advanced debugging capabilities.
• Proficiency in the English language.

Preferred qualifications

• Practical experience developing with Django.
• Technical expertise in PostgreSQL.
• Ability to architect web applications backed by relational databases.
• Experience performing thorough code reviews.
• Background in data analysis or B2B software environments.
• Exposure to frontend web development, DevOps, or embedded systems.
• Previous experience in a startup environment or founding a company.
• Experience in product, engineering, or program management.
• Familiarity with mobile application development.
