Backend Engineer at Composer

As a venture-backed company, we are looking for a talented Senior Backend Engineer to help us push the boundaries of automated finance from anywhere in the world.

What you'll be doing

• You will take ownership of designing and constructing essential components of our core infrastructure.
• You will collaborate directly with our executive leadership to shape our long-term technical architecture and strategy.
• You will be responsible for the maintenance and ongoing improvement of our high-performance trading and backtesting server systems.

What you'll bring

To succeed in this role, you should have a strong background in backend development and a passion for solving complex problems. We are looking for someone who possesses the following skills and qualities:

• Extensive professional experience as a backend engineer.
• A deep interest in Clojure and functional programming paradigms.
• Solid expertise in database design and experience working with cloud platforms, specifically GCP.
• Proven leadership abilities, including a desire to mentor and grow other engineers on the team.
• The ability to learn new concepts rapidly and make sound, educated decisions even when faced with ambiguity.
• Fluency in English to communicate effectively with our global team.
