Backend Engineer at Truffle Security

Truffle Security Co is the organization behind TruffleHog, an open-source tool widely used by security researchers globally to identify and disclose leaky API keys. Since our founding in February 2021, we have remained dedicated to supporting the security community and providing free resources that help prevent costly data breaches. We are currently looking for a Senior Backend Engineer to join our Scanner team in a fully remote capacity. This role is essential to our mission, as you will work directly with our customers to ensure their success while contributing to the stability and evolution of our core technology.

Key outcomes

• Debug and enhance our backend systems built in Golang.
• Serve as a primary product expert, utilizing your deep knowledge of our codebase and logs to replicate and resolve technical issues within customer environments.
• Manage support cases with precision, ensuring every issue is documented, tracked, and followed through to a successful resolution.
• Collaborate closely with our engineering team to identify bugs, provide detailed diagnostic information, and implement timely fixes.
• Create high-quality technical documentation and knowledge base articles to improve our support efficiency and product integrations.
• Act as a dedicated customer advocate, helping our product and engineering teams prioritize features based on frequent user requests.
• Build and maintain strong, professional relationships with key stakeholders across our customers' security and engineering departments.

Requirements

• Significant experience in a customer-facing engineering role.
• Strong proficiency in Golang and the ability to troubleshoot complex backend issues.
• Proven ability to write clear, concise technical documentation.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English.
• Strong organizational skills with a high level of attention to detail, ensuring tasks are seen through from inception to completion.
• Demonstrated experience troubleshooting live issues directly with customers.

Preferred qualifications

• Prior experience working within a GCP environment.

Compensation

The salary range for this position is 115,000 to 140,000 USD.
