Exa-labs is looking for a Backend Engineer
At Exa, we are focused on constructing web-scale systems designed to redefine how the world accesses information. Our team manages massive infrastructure, frequently executing batch processes across more than 1,000 machines and maintaining production services that handle many terabytes of text. We are looking for a talented Senior Backend Engineer to join us on-site in the United States to tackle these complex technical challenges.
Key outcomes
- Architect and implement search capabilities that can process 10 billion pages within a single month.
- Modernize our document parsing infrastructure to ensure compatibility with any website on the internet.
- Engineer a custom vector database capable of performing operations over a billion vectors in less than 100 milliseconds.
- Identify and implement deep optimizations to ensure our systems run at peak performance.
Requirements
- Extensive professional experience working with high-performance programming languages, specifically C++ or Rust.
- A proven ability to perform rigorous system optimization to improve efficiency and speed.
- A strong commitment to the mission of organizing and discovering high-quality knowledge.
- Professional proficiency in English.
