The opportunity

We are looking for a talented Backend Engineer to join our engineering organization. You will play a vital role in advancing our data engineering capabilities, with a specific focus on business intelligence integration and advanced modeling. We believe that great data engineering is built on a foundation of strong software engineering principles. In this role, you will help shape our future frameworks and processes while reporting directly to our Head of Engineering. While we have a preference for candidates in Austin or Dallas, we are happy to consider remote applicants from across the United States.

A day in the life

• You will design, architect, and implement new features while working closely with our leadership, product, and engineering teams.
• You will lead data engineering projects to ensure our pipelines remain reliable, efficient, and maintainable.
• You will pioneer new initiatives by incorporating machine learning algorithms to enhance the sorting capabilities of our search results.

Who you are

You are a mid-level engineer with at least three years of professional experience. You are comfortable working in a fast-paced environment and possess a high level of attention to detail. Your technical toolkit includes:

• Strong proficiency in writing and optimizing complex SQL queries.
• Hands-on experience with Node.js and PostgreSQL or similar technologies.
• Experience working with data warehouses like BigQuery and other GCP components.
• A background in advanced modeling and an interest in building machine learning systems.
• Excellent communication skills in English, allowing you to clearly document your work and explain metrics to stakeholders.
