We are Drivetrain, a fast-growing company founded in 2021 by former Google engineers to help businesses make smarter financial decisions through our planning platform. We are looking for a Senior Backend Engineer to join our remote-first team and help us build scalable, predictable software solutions.

Responsibilities

Solve complex backend challenges related to system design, algorithms, and production-level application development.
Design flexible abstractions that minimize the need for custom code across diverse business use cases.
Integrate and synthesize data from multiple disparate systems.
Work with our modern technology stack, including Java, Spring, Hibernate, Redis, Elasticsearch, PostgreSQL, BigQuery, and AWS.
Help define our engineering standards, product roadmap, and company culture as an early team member.

Must-haves

At least 3 years of professional experience in software engineering.
Strong grasp of distributed systems, data structures, and algorithms.
A proactive, self-driven mindset with a passion for the craft of software development.
Excellent communication skills in English.
Strong problem-solving abilities.

Nice-to-haves

Prior experience working with our specific tech stack, including Java, Spring, Hibernate, Redis, Elasticsearch, PostgreSQL, BigQuery, and AWS.
