We are Drivetrain, a fast-growing company founded in 2021 by former Google engineers to help businesses make smarter financial decisions through our planning platform. We are looking for a Senior Backend Engineer to join our remote-first team and help us build scalable, predictable software solutions.
Responsibilities
- Solve complex backend challenges related to system design, algorithms, and production-level application development.
- Design flexible abstractions that minimize the need for custom code across diverse business use cases.
- Integrate and synthesize data from multiple disparate systems.
- Work with our modern technology stack, including Java, Spring, Hibernate, Redis, Elasticsearch, PostgreSQL, BigQuery, and AWS.
- Help define our engineering standards, product roadmap, and company culture as an early team member.
Must-haves
- At least 3 years of professional experience in software engineering.
- Strong grasp of distributed systems, data structures, and algorithms.
- A proactive, self-driven mindset with a passion for the craft of software development.
- Excellent communication skills in English.
- Strong problem-solving abilities.
Nice-to-haves
- Prior experience working with our specific tech stack, including Java, Spring, Hibernate, Redis, Elasticsearch, PostgreSQL, BigQuery, and AWS.
