We are looking for a Senior Backend Engineer to join our Platform team and help us transform the auto-repair industry. Shopmonkey is a leading cloud-based software provider that helps over 3,500 shops across the U.S. and Canada streamline their operations, and we are backed by top-tier investors like Bessemer Venture Partners and Index Ventures.
Responsibilities
- Collaborate closely with our Engineering Lead, product managers, designers, and quality engineers to deliver robust services.
- Build and maintain data services that support our production systems for both internal and external customers.
- Operate effectively in a fast-paced environment where you can adapt to shifting priorities.
- Take ownership of end-to-end features and resolve complex technical challenges with minimal supervision.
- Prioritize team success and company goals in a collaborative, cross-functional squad.
Must-haves
- At least 5 years of professional software development experience.
- Expert-level proficiency in SQL.
- Strong understanding of data modeling techniques and high-volume ETL/ELT design.
- Experience with data warehousing concepts and tools such as Snowflake, Redshift, or Clickhouse.
- Proficiency with Git for version control.
- A Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
Nice-to-haves
- Experience with Golang or TypeScript.
- Familiarity with PubSub and eventing patterns using tools like Kafka or NATS.

The base salary range for this position is $90,000 to $150,000, plus bonus, equity, and a comprehensive benefits package.
