We are on a mission to make money work for everyone by moving away from traditional, complicated banking. We solve real problems and improve lives through our award-winning service and financial tools, and we are looking for a Senior Backend Engineer to join our team in a hybrid capacity.

Responsibilities

Collaborate with cross-functional squads including designers, product managers, and mobile engineers to test hypotheses and improve our product.
Build and support specific areas of our banking platform within one of our self-governing collectives.
Write resilient, high-quality software while focusing on distributed systems.
Make data-informed decisions to improve customer outcomes.
Participate in our standard interview process, which helps us match you with the team that best fits your skills and interests.

Must-haves

Strong professional experience working on the backend of technology products.
A product-focused mindset and a desire to build tools that you and your community use daily.
Experience with strongly-typed languages such as Go, Java, C, or Scala.
Comfort working within a team that navigates ambiguity.
Fluency in English.
Interest in working with our core stack, including Cassandra, Kafka, Envoy Proxy, Kubernetes, Docker, AWS, and React.

Benefits

The salary for this role is £75,000 - £105,000.

Flexible hours that allow you to work when it suits you and your team.
Remote and hybrid work options, with the ability to be based in our London office or work from anywhere in the UK.
Visa sponsorship and relocation assistance to the UK.
A learning budget of £1,000 per year for conferences, training, and books.
