Backend Engineer at Optimize Health

What you bring

We are seeking a mid-level Backend Engineer to join our team on a full-time, remote basis. You will play a vital role in integrating partner systems, managing complex data exchanges, and ensuring our platform scales effectively as our user base grows. Your primary responsibilities include:

• Collaborating with product designers, customer success teams, and fellow engineers to define and build new product features.
• Writing, reviewing, and refining clean code to improve our platform, while also drafting design documents for larger architectural initiatives.
• Monitoring system performance and proactively tuning our infrastructure to address new challenges and user needs.

Requirements

The ideal candidate possesses 2 to 4 years of experience working with modern software engineering practices. While you do not need to be an expert in every tool we use, we look for individuals who are comfortable with or eager to learn our stack, which includes Go, AWS Lambda, Amazon SNS, Amazon SQS, gRPC, Protocol Buffers, GraphQL, Twilio, and Auth0. You should be a strong communicator who is comfortable working in a distributed environment, capable of choosing pragmatic solutions, and deeply committed to the quality of your work. Proficiency in English is required, and we value candidates who approach unfamiliar problems with curiosity and confidence.
