We are looking for a Senior Backend Engineer to join our team on a full-time basis. Whalar is a global leader in the creator economy, recently recognized by Fast Company as one of the most innovative companies in the world. Our team of 300 individuals works across six divisions to bridge the gap between creators, brands, and platforms. We believe that everything is better with creators, and we are dedicated to liberating the creative voice through our proprietary technology and venture studios. As a remote member of our engineering organization, you will help us build robust backend services that support our high-availability infrastructure.
Responsibilities
- Develop and maintain scalable features within our microservices architecture while ensuring high performance and reliability.
- Collaborate closely with our product and data science teams to design solutions that enhance our data-driven products.
- Maintain code quality by following best practices such as TDD, SOLID principles, and writing comprehensive technical documentation.
Requirements
- At least 4 years of professional experience in backend development using PHP, Java, or C#.
- Strong proficiency with REST APIs and microservices architecture.
- Hands-on experience with Symfony or Laravel frameworks.
- Technical expertise in Docker and AWS environments.
- Excellent communication skills in written and spoken English.
