The role

We are looking for a Senior Backend Engineer to join our Data Services team on a full-time, remote basis. This is a high-impact position where you will design, manage, and optimize the critical data infrastructure that powers our predictive maintenance solutions. You will be instrumental in evolving our serverless architectures and ensuring our systems remain scalable and reliable as we grow.

Core responsibilities

• Architect, develop, and maintain secure, highly available microservices and integrations within our cloud environment.
• Collaborate with the Data Team and engineering leadership to mature our data practices, optimize SQL performance in MySQL, and manage infrastructure through Terraform.
• Drive system improvements by automating CI/CD pipelines, addressing technical debt, and participating in an on-call rotation to ensure production stability.

Skills and experience

To be successful in this role, you should have a strong background in building scalable backend solutions. We value candidates who possess the following:

• Expertise in NodeJS or Python development, specifically within AWS serverless environments like AWS Lambda and API Gateway.
• Deep experience with MySQL database management, including query optimization and schema design.
• Hands-on experience with Terraform for infrastructure-as-code and a solid understanding of CI/CD methodologies.
• A Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related technical field, along with a proactive approach to problem-solving in an Agile environment.
• Excellent communication skills in English to facilitate effective collaboration across our distributed team.
