Cherry Installments is a FinTech company dedicated to helping direct-to-consumer businesses boost their sales by providing seamless installment payment options. We are backed by a stellar group of investors, including DCM and early Tesla board member Simon Rothman, and our leadership team consists of Stanford entrepreneurs with deep expertise in finance, sales, and technology. We are currently looking for a Senior Backend Engineer to join our growing team on a full-time basis. This is a remote-friendly role where you will work alongside a collaborative group of passionate professionals based between San Francisco and Istanbul.
Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and maintain server-side web application logic and various microservices.
- Ensure the successful integration of front-end components with our core backend systems.
- Apply your expertise in Kotlin and object-oriented programming to build scalable, innovative financial applications.
Requirements
We are looking for someone with a strong technical foundation and a passion for solving complex problems. You should possess the following qualifications:
- A degree in Computer Science or a related field, or equivalent professional experience.
- Proven experience with object-oriented programming, specifically using languages like Kotlin.
- A deep understanding of software architecture, distributed systems, and networking within UNIX or Linux environments.
- Proficiency in managing data through relational and non-relational databases, including MySQL, MongoDB, Redis, and Elasticsearch.
- Familiarity with front-end technologies such as JavaScript and HTML5, as well as strong debugging and unit testing skills.
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to manage time effectively in a fast-paced environment.
