What you bring

We are seeking a Senior Backend Engineer to join our team on a full-time basis at our location in Ireland. In this role, you will focus on designing the infrastructure and interfaces that allow Gong to integrate seamlessly with third-party products. You will work with a robust stack including Java, Spring Boot, Kafka, microservices, and various cloud platforms to expand our capabilities. Your primary responsibilities will include:

• Designing and implementing scalable, high-performance backend services and API designs.
• Developing modular integration infrastructure that allows external applications to connect with our platform.
• Prioritizing information security to ensure our external-facing capabilities remain both powerful and protected.

Requirements

The ideal candidate possesses at least five years of experience in backend development with a strong command of Java and modern cloud architectures. You should be comfortable working across both application and infrastructure layers, demonstrating a deep understanding of scalable SaaS solutions. We value candidates who have experience with durable systems, such as Kafka or SQS, and who have a proven track record of building microservices. Exceptional communication skills are essential, as you will collaborate frequently with internal product groups and external partners. We look for individuals who take full ownership of their projects from the initial design phase through to production, ensuring that every feature is reliable and maintainable.
