The role

We are looking for a Senior Backend Engineer to join our team on a full-time, remote basis. This is a high-impact position for an experienced developer who wants to shape the technical foundation of our platform. You will be an early member of our engineering team, meaning you will have significant influence over our architecture and the future of our product. We are looking for someone who can thrive in a fast-paced environment and is ready to take on complex technical challenges.

Core responsibilities

• Design and implement critical infrastructure components that power our automated investment platform.
• Partner directly with our executive team to define and execute our long-term technical architecture.
• Oversee the maintenance and optimization of our core trading and backtesting server environments.

Skills and experience

To succeed in this role, you should be a technical leader who is comfortable navigating uncertainty and making informed decisions. We value candidates who possess the following:

• Extensive professional experience in backend development.
• A strong interest in Clojure and functional programming paradigms.
• Deep knowledge of database design and cloud infrastructure, specifically within GCP.
• Proven leadership abilities, including a passion for mentoring and developing other engineers.
• The ability to learn new concepts rapidly and apply them to novel problems in the trading space.
