Backend Engineer at Cognite

We are looking for a mid-level Backend Engineer to join our team on a full-time basis in India. Responsibilities

• Design and build high-performance backend services and APIs using Java, Kotlin, or Python to support our industry-leading SaaS platform.
• Manage and improve our industrial knowledge graph by working with advanced database technologies like PostgreSQL and Elasticsearch.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to engineer scalable, resilient solutions and contribute to key technical decisions that shape our infrastructure.

Requirements

To be successful in this role, you should have 2 to 5 years of backend engineering experience, preferably within a product-focused or SaaS environment. We are looking for candidates who possess the following qualifications:

• Strong proficiency in at least one of our core languages, which include Java, Kotlin, or Python.
• A solid background in modern database technologies and a passion for distributed systems, performance optimization, and graph processing.
• Practical experience with Kubernetes-based multi-cloud environments, such as AWS, GCP, or Azure, along with a firm grasp of CI/CD and infrastructure best practices.
• Excellent troubleshooting skills, including the ability to analyze metrics, logs, and traces to maintain system health.
• A collaborative mindset with the ability to communicate clearly and work effectively within diverse, globally distributed teams.
