We are looking for a Senior Backend Engineer to join our team in India for a full-time, on-site position. At Nightfall AI, we have built the first AI-native platform designed to prevent data leaks and secure sensitive information across modern enterprise environments. Unlike legacy solutions that are often intrusive and outdated, our technology uses machine learning to provide high-accuracy protection without hindering productivity. We are a well-funded startup backed by top-tier investors, and our platform is trusted to secure data across SaaS applications, endpoints, and generative AI models. In this role, you will help us build the infrastructure that keeps our platform reliable and scalable as we protect critical data for organizations worldwide.
Responsibilities
- Design and build robust data exfiltration prevention applications, system extensions, and drivers for the MacOS or Windows environments.
- Take full ownership of mission-critical endpoint agents, ensuring they remain secure and effective through ongoing maintenance and evolution.
- Manage complex engineering features from the initial design phase through to final delivery, while proactively troubleshooting any issues that arise for our customers.
Requirements
- You have at least 5 years of relevant professional experience in software engineering.
- You possess deep expertise in either Objective-C and Swift for MacOS or C/C++ for Windows.
- You have hands-on experience developing agents on your chosen platform, specifically with Endpoint Security System Extensions on MacOS or Windows Driver Frameworks and filter drivers on Windows.
- You are comfortable with kernel-level debugging, reverse engineering techniques, and debugging code within kernel space.
- You are eager to expand your skillset and learn new systems languages such as Rust, Go, or Python.
- You have a proven ability to break down complex technical problems and manage their execution across different teams.
