Backend Engineer at Typeform

The role

We are looking for a Senior Backend Engineer to join our team on a full-time basis. This is a remote position available to candidates located anywhere. You will play a vital role in maintaining our high-traffic architecture, ensuring that our microservices remain scalable, reliable, and secure as we continue to grow and innovate.

Core responsibilities

• Develop and maintain backend microservices using Golang, utilizing HTTP for inter-process communication and implementing middleware solutions like Kafka or SNS/SQS.
• Propose architectural improvements to support our high-traffic environment and lead root-cause analysis efforts to resolve incidents effectively.
• Participate in an on-call rotation to monitor system health and respond to alerts, ensuring our services remain performant for our users at all times.

Skills and experience

To be successful in this role, you should have a strong background in distributed systems and a passion for engineering excellence. We require the following qualifications:

• A university degree in a relevant technical field.
• Proven experience working within high-traffic distributed architectures.
• Proficiency in Golang, cloud infrastructure, and messaging systems.
• The ability to produce clear architectural documentation.
• Excellent communication skills in English.
• Experience with Terraform, Kubernetes, and Elasticsearch is considered a significant advantage.
