Backend Engineer at Whalar

We are currently seeking a Senior Backend Engineer to join our development squads and help us liberate the creative voice.

Key outcomes

• Develop and maintain robust features for our backend services using a stack that includes PHP, Postgres, and MongoDB.
• Contribute to the expansion of our microservices architecture deployed on AWS and serverless infrastructure.
• Collaborate closely with product and data science teams to build data-driven products and measure their success.
• Ensure system reliability through performance analysis, monitoring, and bug tracking.
• Write clean, maintainable code while adhering to agile methodologies and technical documentation standards.
• Enhance system security and integrate third-party services to improve our data ingestion infrastructure.

Requirements

• At least 4 years of professional experience in backend development using PHP, Java, or C#.
• Strong proficiency in REST APIs and microservices architecture.
• Proven ability to apply SOLID principles, Clean Code practices, and Test-Driven Development.
• Experience with Docker and AWS cloud environments.
• Familiarity with code analysis tools such as Sonar, phpstan, or phpmd.
• Practical experience with unit and integration testing.
• Strong command of the English language for professional collaboration.

Preferred qualifications

• Advanced proficiency with PHP 7.4+ and frameworks like Symfony or Laravel.
• Experience working with message brokers such as RabbitMQ or Kafka.
• Knowledge of Python or NodeJS.
• Experience utilizing Elasticsearch.
