The role
We are looking for a Mid-Level Backend Engineer to join our Core Group on a full-time basis. You will work on-site at our office in Seoul to help us scale our global education services. This is a chance to work on a platform that serves millions of users, helping us evolve from a search-based tool into a comprehensive, AI-driven study ecosystem.
Core responsibilities
- Develop and maintain various application domains, including authentication, search, AI tutoring, Q&A, community features, payments, memberships, and advertising.
- Manage high-traffic systems that support 8 million monthly active users globally.
- Build and optimize services within a microservices architecture using cloud infrastructure like AWS and GCP.
Skills and experience
We are seeking candidates who are passionate about product development and eager to grow alongside our team. You should possess the following qualifications:
- At least 2 years of professional experience in backend engineering.
- Strong fundamentals in computer science.
- Proficiency in Kotlin or Java.
- Deep understanding of database management and design.
- Familiarity with cloud-based infrastructure such as AWS or GCP.
- Excellent logical and critical thinking skills to solve complex problems.
- Fluency in Korean.
Bonus points if you have experience designing scalable systems, working with LLM technologies, or managing data pipelines for AI-generated content.
