The role
We are seeking a Senior Backend Engineer to join our team on a full-time basis. This is a remote position available to candidates located anywhere. You will be responsible for the foundational technology that processes hundreds of gigabytes of data per site every day. You will collaborate closely with our product, design, and frontend teams to deliver a seamless experience for our customers, while also partnering with our machine learning experts to support our state-of-the-art automation pipelines.
Core responsibilities
- Design and maintain robust APIs that power our frontend applications.
- Scale and refine our ETL pipelines to keep pace with our evolving business requirements.
- Build diagnostic tools that allow us to monitor data quality and overall pipeline performance.
Skills and experience
To be successful in this role, you should have a strong background in backend engineering and a commitment to writing reliable, maintainable code. We value candidates who bring the following qualifications:
- At least 3 years of experience working with Python, C++, or a functional programming language.
- 2 or more years of experience in a backend or full-stack role within an agile, cloud-based environment.
- At least 1 year of hands-on experience managing ETL pipelines.
- Practical knowledge of Kubernetes and Airflow.
- Strong SQL skills and deep experience with database design and query optimization.
- A proven track record of using Test Driven Development practices.
- A Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or a related technical field.
- Bonus: Experience with Computer Vision or Machine Learning development is considered a plus.
Compensation and benefits
