Backend Engineer at Rain

As we scale to support over one million users, we are looking for a talented Backend Engineer to join our remote team and help us build the future of financial wellness.

What you'll be doing

• You will manage our backend platform, specifically focusing on API integrations with our various partners and third-party vendors.
• You will take ownership of operational excellence by monitoring production services and implementing high-availability models to ensure our systems remain reliable around the clock.
• You will translate complex business requirements into robust technical solutions, leading engineering efforts to meet our goals while optimizing our application for maximum speed and scalability.

What you'll bring

To be successful in this role, you should have at least three years of software development experience and a Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or an equivalent combination of education and experience. We are looking for someone who possesses the following skills:

• Golang proficiency is a requirement for this position.
• A solid understanding of Kubernetes, Kafka, and Postgres.
• Experience designing and building REST APIs.
• Knowledge of API security standards, specifically OAuth.
• Strong skills in database administration, data migration, and schema design.
• Fluency in English to collaborate effectively with our US-based product and engineering teams.
