The role
We are seeking a Senior Backend Engineer to join our LollyLaw team on a full-time basis. This is a remote position open to candidates located anywhere. You will be a vital part of our engineering organization, taking ownership of the backend services that keep our applications running securely and efficiently. We are looking for a seasoned professional who enjoys working independently while collaborating with a global team to solve complex technical challenges.
Core responsibilities
- Design, develop, and optimize scalable backend services and APIs using Spring Boot and Node.js.
- Manage PostgreSQL databases to ensure the efficient storage and retrieval of both structured and unstructured data.
- Architect and maintain secure system integrations within our AWS cloud infrastructure, utilizing tools like Docker for containerized workflows.
Skills and experience
To succeed in this role, you should possess a strong technical foundation and a commitment to security. We require the following qualifications:
- At least 4 years of professional experience building backend services and APIs with Spring Boot or Node.js.
- Deep proficiency in PostgreSQL and handling JSON data.
- A solid understanding of RESTful API design, OAuth, JWT, and overall security best practices.
- Hands-on experience with AWS services such as Lambda, RDS, ECS, and S3.
- A security-first mindset and the ability to thrive in a remote-first environment.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and a willingness to learn new technologies, including AI and machine learning features.
