Backend Engineer at Endor Labs

We are looking for an experienced Backend Engineer to join our team in Palo Alto, California. At Endor Labs, we are building the definitive application security platform for the modern software development era, helping teams identify and resolve risks within complex, dependency-heavy software estates through advanced call graph technology.

Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain core Golang libraries, including gRPC, protobuf, AuthN/AuthZ, and MongoDB integrations.
• Drive the optimization and architecture of our API Gateway and core server infrastructure.
• Design and build high-impact tools that improve development workflows across the entire engineering organization.
• Advance our polyglot monorepo using Bazel and optimize our continuous integration pipelines.
• Champion observability best practices to ensure high reliability and availability for our users.
• Architect scalable distributed systems using domain-driven design and effective load balancing strategies.

Must-haves

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering with over 7 years of experience building scalable backends for SaaS products.
• Approximately 4 years of professional experience with Golang, specifically focused on microservices and distributed architectures.
• Proven ability to design robust APIs using frameworks like gRPC, ReST, or GraphQL.
• Strong architectural acumen with the ability to build complex technical solutions from the ground up.
• Excellent communication skills, with the ability to navigate architectural trade-offs and guide team decision-making.
• A problem-solving mindset capable of troubleshooting distributed systems and identifying root causes.
• Fluency in English.

Nice-to-haves

• Deep expertise in secure software design, including OAuth2, OIDC, and certificate management.
• Hands-on experience with cloud-native technologies such as Kubernetes, Docker, or Lambda functions.
• Background in security, fraud prevention, or anomaly detection.
