Rain is a fast-growing fintech startup backed by QED Capital, dedicated to helping people achieve financial freedom by providing instant access to earned wages. We are currently searching for a Backend Engineer to join our remote team and help us scale our platform to support over one million users.
Responsibilities
- Translate complex business needs into effective technical solutions and lead development efforts to hit aggressive milestones.
- Maintain operational excellence by monitoring production services and ensuring high availability for our 24/7 systems.
- Oversee backend API integrations with our various partners and third-party vendors.
- Connect server-side logic with user-facing features created by our front-end team.
- Develop reusable code and libraries to improve our long-term development efficiency.
- Optimize our application architecture to ensure maximum speed and scalability.
- Design and implement robust data storage solutions and database schemas.
Must-haves
- At least 3 years of professional software development experience.
- A Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or a comparable mix of technical education and work history.
- Proficiency in Golang, which is essential for this role.
- Experience working with Kubernetes, Kafka, and Postgres.
- Strong background in designing and building REST APIs.
- Knowledge of API security standards, specifically OAuth.
- Experience with database administration, data migration, and managing hosting environments.
- Fluency in English.
