Rain is a fast-growing fintech startup backed by QED Capital, dedicated to helping people achieve financial freedom by providing instant access to earned wages. We are currently searching for a Backend Engineer to join our remote team and help us scale our platform to support over one million users.

Responsibilities

Translate complex business needs into effective technical solutions and lead development efforts to hit aggressive milestones.
Maintain operational excellence by monitoring production services and ensuring high availability for our 24/7 systems.
Oversee backend API integrations with our various partners and third-party vendors.
Connect server-side logic with user-facing features created by our front-end team.
Develop reusable code and libraries to improve our long-term development efficiency.
Optimize our application architecture to ensure maximum speed and scalability.
Design and implement robust data storage solutions and database schemas.

Must-haves

At least 3 years of professional software development experience.
A Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or a comparable mix of technical education and work history.
Proficiency in Golang, which is essential for this role.
Experience working with Kubernetes, Kafka, and Postgres.
Strong background in designing and building REST APIs.
Knowledge of API security standards, specifically OAuth.
Experience with database administration, data migration, and managing hosting environments.
Fluency in English.
