At Amberflo, we are on a mission to reshape how businesses handle billing. Founded in 2020 by former AWS technologists, we have built a modern, highly scalable platform that helps companies transition to usage-based pricing. Our work supports industry leaders like Equinix and LaunchDarkly, providing them with the real-time, accurate invoicing they need to grow. With 20 million dollars in Series A funding led by Norwest Venture Partners, we are a mission-driven team spread across the globe, united by our goal to make business models more fair and transparent.
The opportunity
We are looking for a Senior Backend Engineer to join our team and help us evolve our next-generation meter file storage system. A day in the life
- You will design and build new microservices using AWS Lambda to expand our platform capabilities.
- You will manage the processing of large data sets and develop robust, public-facing REST APIs.
- You will contribute to our SDKs and use observability tools to troubleshoot production issues, ensuring our systems remain reliable and efficient.
Who you are
You are a self-starter who thrives in a cloud-native environment and has a passion for building high-quality software. You communicate effectively in English and bring the following experience to our team:
- At least 3 years of experience developing microservices with Java or NodeJS.
- Hands-on expertise with AWS services, including S3, SQS, RDS, and DynamoDB.
- A strong background in designing REST APIs, building data pipelines, and implementing CI/CD workflows.
- A disciplined approach to testing, including the use of unit tests and mocking frameworks.
- A collaborative mindset, with a willingness to mentor others and a drive to take ownership of complex technical challenges.
Why you'll love it here
We believe in empowering our team to do their best work while maintaining a healthy balance. When you join us, you can look forward to:
- The flexibility of remote work or working from our Bay Area hub.
- Comprehensive medical insurance to keep you and your family covered.
- A 401k plan to help you build for the future.
- Flexible hours that allow you to manage your schedule effectively.
- The chance to work on a cutting-edge, high-growth platform alongside a team that values customer obsession and technical excellence.
