Backend Engineer at Peach Finance

As we continue to grow, we are looking for a Senior Backend Engineer to join our small, expert team. This is a unique opportunity to design a new FinTech system from the ground up, using modern tools to shape how we write, test, monitor, and deploy our technology.

The opportunity

In this role, you will be a key leader in our engineering organization. We are looking for someone who wants to make a lasting impact by building systems from the frontend to our microservices and Kubernetes deployments. You will work closely with our product and design teams to balance scalability with feature delivery, all while helping us foster an inclusive and effective engineering culture.

A day in the life

• You will guide and mentor junior engineers, helping them grow their skills while ensuring our code remains clean and reliable.
• You will collaborate with product and design stakeholders to navigate technical trade-offs and address scalability concerns.
• You will take an active role in our backend on-call rotation and incident review processes to keep our systems running smoothly.

Who you are

You are a seasoned engineer with at least 5 years of experience in backend agile software development, ideally within a SaaS environment. You have a deep understanding of building APIs and microservices, and you prioritize writing code that is easy to maintain and test. We value candidates who have thrived in small teams or startup settings, and experience in the FinTech industry is a major plus. You should be fluent in English and possess the following technical background:

• At least 5 years of professional experience using Python.
• Extensive experience working within a microservices architecture.
• A strong technical foundation, supported by a degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Math, or equivalent experience.
• Experience with GCP is considered a plus.
• Knowledge of Go is highly desirable, with 2 or more years of experience preferred.
