We operate with a deep commitment to integrity, transparency, and collaboration, and we are looking for passionate individuals to help us build the next generation of our data processing systems.
The role
We are looking for a Junior Backend Engineer to join our application team on a full-time, on-site basis in either our San Francisco or Denver offices. This role is ideal for someone with 1 to 4 years of experience who is eager to design and build the core systems that power our customer-facing applications. You will work in a collaborative environment alongside senior leadership, gaining valuable technical and product insights while helping us scale our infrastructure for future growth.
Core responsibilities
- Architect and develop distributed services that serve as the foundation for our customer-facing products.
- Collaborate closely with backend, frontend, and data engineering teams to ensure a seamless and high-performing user experience.
- Lead technical design, create detailed specifications, and manage the implementation of various backend services.
Skills and experience
To succeed in this role, you should have a strong grasp of object-oriented programming and experience building distributed systems. We value clear communication and the ability to simplify complex technical challenges. Your technical toolkit should include:
- Programming languages: Java, Kotlin, and Python.
- Frameworks: Spring Boot and Flask.
- Infrastructure & Cloud: GCP, Kubernetes, and Docker.
- Data & Messaging: Postgres, BigQuery, and Google PubSub.
We also look for a strong sense of ownership and the ability to balance speed, quality, and complexity. While not required, experience taking large projects from ideation to production or working on greenfield projects will distinguish your application.
Compensation and benefits
The salary range for this position is $95,000 to $120,000 USD. This range reflects the target for new hires in California and Colorado, with final compensation determined by your specific location, skills, and experience. We also provide a comprehensive benefits package designed to support your health and professional growth.
How to apply
If you are excited about building scalable systems and want to help us reshape the landscape of people intelligence, we want to hear from you. We value diverse backgrounds and encourage you to apply even if your career path has been unconventional. Please submit your application through our official careers portal to join our team.
