What you bring

As a Senior Backend Engineer Specialist focused on payments, you will join our on-site team in Brazil to maintain and evolve the critical infrastructure that processes billions of reais daily. You will work within a full-time capacity, utilizing your expertise in software development, serverless architecture, and event-driven systems to ensure our APIs remain both robust and simple. Your primary responsibilities will include:

• Designing, developing, and scaling APIs to support new financial product features.
• Building resilient, asynchronous systems that handle retries and automated reconciliation to resolve discrepancies without manual intervention.
• Optimizing system performance by reducing latency and throughput while maintaining a lean approach to cloud resource management.

Requirements

We are looking for a candidate who possesses a solid foundation in software engineering and a deep understanding of microservices and messaging patterns. You should be comfortable working in high-volume environments where strict SLAs are the standard. The ideal candidate is a proactive problem solver with a DevOps mindset, capable of managing cloud infrastructure and observability. Proficiency in both English and Portuguese is required to collaborate effectively within our team. While not mandatory, experience with Google Cloud Platform, Open Finance regulations, and direct integration with Brazilian banking protocols like Pix or STR will significantly strengthen your application.
