The opportunity

We are looking for a Lead Backend Engineer to join our growing tech organization of over 140 professionals. In this role, you will be an integral part of a cross-functional squad, working alongside product managers and designers to build features from the ground up. You will not just be writing code, but actively participating in the discovery phase, designing scalable software architectures, and ensuring our platform continues to support our rapid growth as we scale to serve millions of users. This is a full-time, remote position where your technical leadership will help shape the future of our product.

A day in the life

• Collaborate with your squad to define, design, and build new features, taking full ownership of the development lifecycle from initial concept to production release.
• Monitor and maintain the health of our platform by proactively identifying and fixing production issues to ensure a seamless experience for our customers.
• Contribute to technical excellence within the team by participating in code reviews and helping to establish best practices for architecture and testing.

Who you are

You are a seasoned engineer who thrives in collaborative, agile environments and cares deeply about the impact of your work on the end user. You bring a balanced perspective that blends technical expertise with a strong understanding of product goals.

• You have at least 4 years of hands-on experience working with Ruby on Rails.
• You are comfortable working with modern web technologies, including Ruby, AWS, React, and TypeScript.
• You possess excellent communication skills and are fluent in English, allowing you to articulate complex technical ideas clearly to your team.
• You are a natural team player who values empathy and inclusivity, and you are eager to solve real-world problems for our customers.
