Responsibilities
- Take full ownership of large, complex projects from inception to completion.
- Ensure all product milestones are met on time.
- Lead technical discussions and serve as a primary resource for troubleshooting and guidance.
- Monitor and improve key engineering metrics related to system performance, quality, and availability.
- Engage in architecture design and provide thorough code reviews.
- Mentor junior team members while establishing best practices for development.
- Contribute to our growth by participating in hiring initiatives and sharing our team successes.
Must-haves
- At least 2 years of experience building web-based products.
- Proficiency in a dynamic programming language and an MVC framework, with a strong preference for Ruby on Rails.
- Expertise in database modeling, including the ability to identify bottlenecks and optimize queries.
- Practical experience with AWS and standard CI/CD workflows.
- A proven history of developing scalable, highly available distributed systems.
- Strong communication skills and the ability to build rapport with various stakeholders.
- A self-motivated mindset with a passion for incremental improvements and code refactoring.
Nice-to-haves
- Experience with frontend frameworks, specifically React.js.
- Familiarity with Kubernetes, Docker, and related deployment technologies.
- Knowledge of web application security best practices, including mitigation strategies for SQL injection and XSS vulnerabilities.
