The opportunity

We are seeking a Backend Engineer II to join our Payments, Claims, and Eligibility team. In this role, you will report directly to an Engineering Manager and play a vital part in building the services that power our core business. This is a fully remote position where you will have the chance to work across our entire tech stack, contribute to meaningful technical designs, and help us scale as we continue to grow. You will be instrumental in ensuring our systems are robust, secure, and capable of delivering high-quality results for our users.

A day in the life

• You will design, build, and maintain the backend services that drive our primary business operations.
• You will collaborate with cross-functional teams to provide accurate technical estimates and solve complex engineering challenges.
• You will participate in an on-call rotation to support our systems and ensure the security and privacy of our users.

Who you are

You are a seasoned engineer with at least 3 years of experience in building scalable, high-quality software. You are comfortable working in a fast-paced startup environment and are eager to contribute to our mission of improving the U.S. healthcare system. To succeed in this role, you should possess the following:

• Proficiency in Python and hands-on experience with SQL.
• Experience building both event-driven and request-driven microservices.
• A strong understanding of AWS services and experience operating applications on Kubernetes.
• Familiarity with Terraform, Postgres, Elasticsearch, and Snowflake.
• Strong communication skills in English and the ability to work effectively within an Agile team.
• Authorization to work lawfully in the United States, as we do not provide immigration sponsorship.
