Backend Engineer Expert at Clara

We are looking for a senior-level Backend Engineer to join our remote team and help us build the future of B2B payments.

What you'll be doing

• You will partner with our development team throughout the entire product lifecycle to build and refine our software.
• You will act as a mentor, guiding junior developers by sharing your expertise in software best practices and internal procedures.
• You will take ownership of our existing systems, ensuring they remain efficient and secure while developing reusable modules to improve our overall architecture.

What you'll bring

To be successful in this role, you should have a strong background in building complex enterprise software. We are looking for the following qualifications:

• Over 5 years of experience working with Java, including Spring, SpringBoot, and Hibernate/JPA.
• Deep knowledge of relational databases, data modeling, and object-oriented design.
• At least 3 years of experience with TDD, BDD, and agile methodologies like Scrum or Kanban.
• Proven ability to design and implement RESTful web services and microservices.
• Experience working with AWS, Git, GitHub, and CI/CD pipelines.
• A high level of proficiency in English.
• Familiarity with event-driven architectures and a commitment to high security and design standards.
• Bonus points if you have experience with Kafka, PostgreSQL, Docker, or AWS DevOps.
