About the Role
We are seeking a Senior Backend Engineer to join our ACS Integrations Platform team on a full-time basis. This role is central to our vision for managing Access Control Systems and improving how our platform interfaces with large-scale vendors. You will work on a variety of challenges, ranging from performance optimization and infrastructure concerns like rate limiting to enhancing our internal developer experience through our integration SDK. This is a hybrid position, and you will be expected to work from our San Francisco headquarters at least three days per week, specifically Tuesday through Thursday.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and launch new services that enhance the safety, reliability, and precision of our access control systems.
- Evaluate and refine the current methods we use to manage ACS to ensure they meet our evolving standards.
- Collaborate closely with your team to brainstorm solutions and see projects through from initial design to final customer delivery.
Requirements
- At least 5 years of professional software engineering experience.
- A Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science or a related technical field.
- Proven experience building and supporting APIs, specifically REST, JSON/HTTP, and GraphQL.
- Proficiency in TypeScript or Kotlin, with a track record of maintaining and debugging production-level code.
- Strong foundational knowledge in software patterns, message queues, sharding, and auto-scaling.
Location
This position is based in the United States, with a specific requirement to be onsite at our San Francisco headquarters for hybrid work.
Compensation and Benefits
For candidates located in the San Francisco Bay Area, the expected annual cash compensation for this role ranges from $170,000 to $200,000. Final offers are determined based on your unique expertise and experience. In addition to a competitive salary and equity, we offer the following benefits:
