The role

We are hiring a Senior Backend Developer on a full-time basis. The position is hybrid and open in France or the United Kingdom. You will join our AI engineering team and work closely with the team lead to design and deliver the backend systems that power our cloud platform and integrate our models into real-world applications.

Core responsibilities

• Architect and optimize the backend for a cloud-deployed platform that integrates our open-source solutions, enabling users to leverage our models across chatbots, search engines, document processing, and other applications.
• Build robust, scalable backend systems that support the integration of Mistral AI models into diverse use cases while maintaining high performance and reliability.
• Develop developer-centric tools such as performance dashboards and evaluation interfaces that improve product interaction and monitoring capabilities.

Skills and experience

• Proven experience in Python with a strong focus on backend development using Django and/or FastAPI.
• Expertise in database technologies such as Postgres or Redis, with a track record of optimizing data storage and retrieval.
• Solid understanding of infrastructure, continuous integration, and continuous development practices.
• Interest in applying backend skills to AI-driven solutions, including work with large language models.
• Ability to independently design high-quality backend solutions while keeping the overall user experience in mind.
• Quick adaptability to emerging technologies and eagerness to deepen knowledge of AI software.
• Fluency in English.

Compensation and benefits

The salary for this role starts at 80,000€ and is commensurate with experience. We also offer hybrid work arrangements.
