The role

We are looking for a Senior Backend Developer to join us on a full-time basis. This is a hybrid role based in Italy, where you will help us tackle complex domain modeling and technical challenges. You will be part of a multidisciplinary engineering team of about 100 people, working in an environment that values autonomy, rapid decision-making, and continuous improvement.

Core responsibilities

• Solve complex design and domain modeling challenges to modernize the outdated and process-heavy energy market.
• Build robust, fault-tolerant systems capable of processing millions of smart meter readings daily and integrating that data into machine learning pipelines.
• Contribute to the disruption of the Italian energy landscape by developing smart, dynamic technology that supports the transition to a lower-carbon future.

Skills and experience

We are looking for diligent, curious, and self-driven engineers who are enthusiastic about learning new technologies. You should be fluent in both English and Italian. Your technical background should include:

• Strong proficiency in Python and Django or an equivalent web framework.
• Experience with HTTP, REST APIs, and Postgres.
• Expertise in Celery and asynchronous processing.
• A solid understanding of domain modeling and writing fault-tolerant software.
• Bonus points for experience with AWS, Terraform, Packer, Consul, or frontend technologies like React and Redux.
