Backend Developer at OpenWeb

We are looking for a Senior Backend Developer to join our team in France on a full-time, on-site basis.

Key outcomes

• Build and maintain new features for our core backend systems, including ad serving, tracking, metrics, and indexing, while adhering to our engineering standards.
• Focus on continuous optimization to improve system performance, specifically regarding latency and throughput.
• Take responsibility for the scalability and quality of your deliverables throughout the entire development and production lifecycle.
• Contribute to the architectural design of our future backend projects and our broader technological stack.
• Create thorough technical documentation for the projects you support.
• Develop and implement robust unit and functional tests to ensure code reliability.
• Partner closely with our QA team to validate releases before they reach production.

Requirements

• At least 3 years of professional experience working on backend projects that involve significant scalability or performance challenges.
• Strong proficiency in the Go programming language, including experience with goroutines, channels, and synchronization.
• Hands-on experience with NoSQL technologies such as Aerospike, Redis, or ScyllaDB, as well as SQL databases like Postgres.
• Practical knowledge of Kafka and experience working within microservices architectures.
• Comfortable using Git workflows in a collaborative environment.
• Excellent communication skills in both French and English.
• A proactive, curious, and ambitious mindset with the ability to work with a high degree of autonomy.

Preferred qualifications

• Previous experience or familiarity with the digital advertising industry.
• Experience working with gRPC.
