Role at a glance
We’re hiring a Senior Backend Developer on a full-time basis. The role is fully remote and open to candidates anywhere in the world. You’ll join a fast-moving engineering team that ships production-grade services used by developers building their careers through Pesto Tech.
Your impact
- Design, build, and maintain scalable backend systems and APIs with Next.js, TypeScript, GraphQL, Node.js, and Prisma, ensuring they stay fast and reliable as usage grows.
- Own infrastructure concerns-debugging issues, scheduling cron jobs, and setting up messaging queues-so data flows smoothly and microservices stay in sync.
- Optimize data delivery by implementing efficient pagination and transfer patterns that keep performance high even at large scale.
What you'll need
You bring at least three years of hands-on backend experience and hold a bachelor’s degree in computer science, engineering, or a related field. You’re fluent in Next.js, TypeScript, GraphQL, Node.js, and Prisma, and you have a solid grasp of backend architecture, infrastructure, and deployment practices. Experience writing cron jobs, managing messaging queues, and tuning data-transfer performance is essential. You communicate clearly in English, solve problems methodically, and bring the drive to put in the focused hours needed to deliver high-quality results in a high-growth setting.
