The role

We are looking for a Lead Backend Developer to join our team on a full-time, remote basis. This is a senior-level position for someone who is comfortable taking ownership of projects and mentoring others. Whether you are based anywhere in the world or prefer to visit our offices in Madrid or Valencia, you will be an integral part of our distributed team, contributing to our ongoing growth and technical success.

Core responsibilities

• Collaborate with project managers and developers to estimate tasks and prioritize the product backlog.
• Focus on software quality by refactoring legacy code, optimizing performance, and improving system scalability.
• Proactively contribute ideas for new features and technical improvements while participating in peer reviews to maintain high standards.

Skills and experience

To be successful in this role, you should have at least 4 years of experience in backend development. We work with diverse stacks and are looking for the following qualifications:

• Solid experience with PHP 8 and the Symfony framework is required. If you do not have Symfony experience, we will consider candidates with strong backgrounds in Laravel or Slim.
• Desirable experience includes NodeJS, TypeScript, and NestJS.
• Proficiency in unit and E2E testing, such as PHPUnit, Jest, or Cypress.
• Experience with Docker, automated deployments, and server management on platforms like AWS.
• Fluency in Spanish and English to communicate effectively within our team.
