Welcome to Zoomprop. We are a seed-funded startup building a powerful real estate investment data platform, serving as the Bloomberg Terminal for the property sector. Our leadership team brings deep experience from companies like eBay, Pandora, and MLB, and we have a proven history of raising significant capital and driving successful exits. We are looking for a talented Senior Backend Developer to join our growing team and help us shape the future of real estate data.
What you'll be doing
- You will design, build, and maintain the backend architecture for our web applications, ensuring they remain secure, scalable, and highly performant.
- You will develop robust RESTful APIs and serverless functions using Python, AWS Lambda, and API Gateway to support our core platform features.
- You will manage our AWS infrastructure and database systems, working closely with our product and frontend teams to align technical solutions with user interface requirements.
What you'll bring
To be successful in this role, you should have a strong background in software engineering and a passion for building efficient data systems. We are looking for the following qualifications:
- At least 3 years of professional experience in backend development, specifically focused on API development and AWS infrastructure.
- Deep proficiency in Python and Postgres, along with a solid understanding of data modeling and database design.
- Strong knowledge of data structures, algorithms, and object-oriented programming principles.
- Experience with AWS services like RDS, Cloudformation CDK, and S3.
- A Bachelor’s degree or higher in a STEM field.
- Excellent communication skills in English, with the ability to explain complex technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
- An independent, proactive mindset and the ability to thrive in an agile, fast-paced startup environment.
