Back-End Engineer at Remofirst

Responsibilities

• Design, build and maintain backend services and RESTful APIs using Python frameworks such as Django or Flask.
• Implement efficient data models and queries for both SQL and NoSQL databases.
• Integrate server-side logic with front-end components to deliver responsive, high-performance features.
• Write tests, debug issues and optimise code for scalability and reliability.
• Collaborate with product, design and engineering teammates to translate requirements into technical solutions.
• Mentor junior developers and share best practices across the team.
• Stay current with emerging tools and techniques that can improve our platform.

Must-haves

• At least two years of hands-on experience as a Python backend developer or similar role.
• Strong command of Python and at least one framework such as Django or Flask.
• Practical experience designing and querying relational databases (MySQL, PostgreSQL).
• Understanding of RESTful API design, HTTP fundamentals and web-security concepts.
• Familiarity with Git and collaborative development workflows.
• Ability to work effectively in a fully remote, English-speaking team.

Nice-to-haves

• Exposure to NoSQL stores such as MongoDB or Redis.
• Experience with container orchestration (Kubernetes), Docker or CI/CD pipelines.
• Knowledge of cloud platforms, especially AWS.
• Background in asynchronous programming with asyncio or similar libraries.
