Frontera Health is transforming pediatric care by using a tech-enabled platform to bring essential therapies to rural families. Backed by major investors like Lightspeed and Lux, we use AI and machine learning to create video-based data models that support early intervention for developmental disorders, and we are looking for a Senior Back End Engineer to help us scale this mission.

Responsibilities

Architect and build distributed, scalable back-end services using modern frameworks.
Partner with front-end teams to design and implement efficient REST and GraphQL APIs.
Manage and evolve data models across both relational and NoSQL databases.
Integrate rigorous security protocols to safeguard sensitive health data.
Drive system performance improvements through monitoring and proactive optimization.
Engage in code reviews and foster a culture of technical knowledge sharing.

Must-haves

At least 5 years of professional experience in back-end development, specifically with Python or Java.
Proven expertise in cloud infrastructure, including AWS, GCP, or Azure.
Strong background in designing and deploying APIs.
A deep understanding of security best practices in software engineering.
Commitment to writing clean, maintainable, and well-documented code.
Excellent problem-solving abilities and clear communication skills in English.

Nice-to-haves

Experience working across the full stack, including front-end technologies.
Familiarity with diverse database architectures.

Benefits

The salary range for this full-time, on-site position is $145,000 to $170,000 USD.
